2026 Choir Auditions: Join the Circle at AfterGlow Chorus!

Have you ever been in the middle of a chord so perfectly tuned that you could actually feel the floor vibrate? That is the "AfterGlow moment"—and we want you to be a part of it!

We are officially diving into our Spring 2026 choral season, "Purple Reign," and we are looking for a few more passionate, experienced singers to join the fun. If you’re a vocalist who loves to work hard, laugh a lot, and make music that moves people, your seat is waiting in our Oakland chamber choir.

We don’t believe in "boring" repertoire. This season is a high-energy, soulful, and technical adventure through the best of a cappella and choral music:

• The Absolute Joy of Moses Hogan: We’re tackling the legendary "My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord." It’s fast, it’s rhythmic, and it’s an absolute blast to sing with a vocal ensemble that gives it their all.

• Prince Like You’ve Never Heard Him: We’re bringing a lush, sophisticated magic to arrangements like "7." It’s funky, challenging, and incredibly rewarding to pull off.

• Jazz & Gospel Foundations: From the cool, Sacred Concert vibes of Duke Ellington to the heart-on-your-sleeve power of Richard Smallwood’s "Total Praise," this season celebrates the very best of the American musical spirit.

We know you have a busy life, so we keep our choir rehearsals focused and fast-paced. Because our singers prepare their music independently, we get to skip the "note-bashing" and spend our time on the good stuff: blending, grooving, and creating a professional-standard sound.

Plus, we’re located right in Uptown Oakland at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland. We are a literal three-minute walk from the 19th St. BART station, making us one of the most accessible choirs in the East Bay for those commuting from San Francisco or Berkeley.
