AfterGlow Chorus is currently scheduling auditions for our Spring ’26 concert program, Purple Reign — an exhilarating choral tribute honoring the life and music of Prince on the 10-year anniversary of his passing.

This Spring 2026 performance season is different — dynamic, joyful, and stylistically bold.
Our chorus will bring to life:
Prince classics: Purple Rain, When the Doves Cry, 7, Kiss
Classical masterpieces: Mahler’s Urlicht, Jake Runestad’s Alleluia, Betty Jackson King’s Psalm 57
Jazz gems: Duke Ellington’s Come Sunday
Gospel favorites: Even Me and Always Remember
Choral spirituals: My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord, We Shall Walk through the Valley, Lord, How Come Me Here
AfterGlow Chorus is known for its unusually broad programming — something rarely found in Bay Area choirs — and this season will continue that tradition.

📍 Oakland Rehearsals — Fast-Paced + Focused
AfterGlow Chorus rehearses differently from most Bay Area choirs.
Instead of weekly rehearsals for months, we work in intensive, highly focused sessions during a 4-week period leading up to each concert. Singers prepare independently ahead of time, so rehearsals remain dynamic, efficient, and artistically rich.
Rehearsals take place in Oakland, at First Presbyterian Church — close to transit and easily accessible by BART, carpooling, and free parking.
For singers living in Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley, Alameda, and the broader East Bay, it’s an ideal location.
