What a way to start the year. As we settle into the first week of 2026, AfterGlow Chorus is already looking toward the horizon. Following our sold-out holiday series, we are officially opening choir auditions for our upcoming Spring '26 season, "Purple Reign."

Join the Chorus: "Purple Reign" Spring 2026

Our Spring '26 program, "Purple Reign," is a bold musical tribute marking the 10th anniversary of Prince's passing. This season is designed to be as eclectic as "The Artist" himself, spanning:

• Prince’s Greatest Hits: Iconic arrangements of Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, and 7.

• Classical Masterpieces: Works by Jake Runestad, Betty Jackson King, and Adolphus Hailstork.

• Soul-Stirring Gospel & Jazz: Music by Duke Ellington and Andrae Crouch.

Audition Details for Oakland & East Bay Singers

We are currently seeking experienced singers for all voice parts from Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and the greater East Bay.

• The Vibe: We are an advanced, auditioned chamber choir of over 40 singers. We move fast—learning our music independently so that rehearsals can focus on artistry and blend.

• The Schedule: We follow a rigorous but rewarding Spring 2026 Rehearsal Schedule. Please review these dates to ensure you can commit to our high standards of preparation and attendance.

• The Location: Rehearsals are held in the Uptown neighborhood at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, easily accessible by BART.

• The Audition: Simple and straightforward. You’ll sing a brief a cappella song of your choice, followed by vocalizing and sight-singing.
