An open invitation to experience an oasis of unamplified sound in Oakland this August.

Momentum is building quickly for The Gift of Love, and our Advance Ticket tier is now entirely sold out. For those planning to join us at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Oakland, our $5-off Discount Tickets are live starting today, offering a wonderful opportunity to secure your seats early and save before standard door pricing hits.

A Living Tapestry of Acoustic Space

The Gift of Love is designed as a profound "vocal embrace"—an afternoon of unamplified live choral music in the East Bay shaped to offer comfort, restore equilibrium, and provide a welcoming oasis of sound away from the noise of daily life.

To create that space, our 40-member a cappella chamber choir explores a demanding breadth of musical styles. The beauty of this program lies in its deep stylistic range, requiring our singers to pivot seamlessly across entirely different vocal colors and traditions:

  • Lush 20th-Century Textures: Experience the luminous, impressionistic warmth and Gregorian-inspired elegance of Maurice Duruflé’s Ubi Caritas, alongside the exquisite sacred writing of R. Nathaniel Dett’s O Holy Lord.

  • Resilient Spirituals: Feel the rich, collective depth of traditional acoustic storytelling, anchored by Moses Hogan's comforting, deeply resonant arrangement of Give Me Jesus.

  • Gospel & Soulful Uplift: Move into the celebratory, vibrant energy of Richard Smallwood's Heritage/Healing and Sam Cooke’s timeless Bring It on Home to Me.

Bringing this repertoire to life inside the gorgeous acoustics of St. Paul's requires lines of immense vocal flexibility, dynamic precision, and a flawless ensemble blend. The result is a physical, enveloping wall of sound that carries the listener from introspective quiet to soaring joy.

Our $5-off Discount tier is open and available for the coming weeks. You can select your performance date and reserve your seats below:

P.S. A brief midsummer cooling trend...

While our calendars march toward our first full ensemble rehearsal on July 13th, the June heatwave is making itself fully known across the East Bay. To offer a bit of structural relief while you wait for the concerts to arrive, we have pulled a recent release from our December holiday archives.

We realize it is thoroughly out of season to look toward midwinter in the middle of June, but nothing captures the warmth, precision, and spirit of this ensemble quite like our live encore performance of "Auld Lang Syne."

Consider it a quick breath of crisp winter air for a warm afternoon, and we look forward to sharing our new summer repertoire with you in August.
