Purple Reign: AfterGlow Chorus Celebrates Holiday Success and Announces Spring 2026 Auditions

What a way to light up the night! As the final notes of our holiday series, "A Not So Silent Night," faded into the rafters this past week, our hearts were full. To everyone who joined our choir in Oakland and across the East Bay: thank you. Your energy, your applause, and your presence turned our performances into a true community celebration. There is a specific kind of magic that happens when the San Francisco Bay Area comes together for a cappella and choir music, and this season was a testament to the vibrant arts culture we share here in Alameda County.

But at AfterGlow Chorus, the "glow" never stays static. We are already looking toward the horizon, and it’s looking decidedly purple.

A Bold, Celebratory Tribute: Announcing "Purple Reign"

AfterGlow Chorus is currently scheduling auditions for our Spring '26 concert program, "Purple Reign." This exuberant program is our musical tribute to mark the 10th anniversary of Prince's passing in 2016.

This promises to be our most exciting production yet. As always, our broad repertoire will span classical masterpieces, spirituals, R&B, gospel, and jazz. Centered on the iconic music of Prince, but featuring fantastic selections from many different musical genres, this season is a celebration of musical genius and the joy of vocal harmony. Whether our choir is performing soaring a cappella arrangements or soulful accompanied works, this program will be a highlight of the Bay Area's spring arts calendar.
