The final performance of AfterGlow Chorus’s debut holiday concert A Not So Silent Night is almost here. This Saturday, December 13 at 8:00 PM in Oakland, we close our holiday season with an evening of luminous music, soul-stirring energy, and the unmistakable AfterGlow artistry that audiences across the Bay Area have been raving about.

If you missed our December 7 performance — or if you want to experience the magic again — this is your last chance to join us before the season wraps.

A Holiday Concert You Don’t Want to Miss

A Not So Silent Night brings together a beautifully varied program of reimagined carols, jubilant spirituals, gospel and Motown favorites, and radiant choral masterworks. It’s a celebration of joy, warmth, and true musical craft — the perfect December offering for Oakland, the East Bay, and the wider San Francisco Bay Area.

Program Highlights Include:

  • “Ding Dong! Merrily on High” — Charles Wood

  • “Angels We Have Heard on High” — Alice Parker & Robert Shaw

  • “Rockin’ Jerusalem” — Stacey V. Gibbs

  • “What ’Cha Gonna Call the Pretty Little Baby” — Ronald Stevens

  • “Ave Maria” — R. Nathaniel Dett

  • “The Word Was God” — Rosephanye Powell

  • “The Christmas Song” — Mel Tormé

  • “This Christmas” — Donny Hathaway

  • “Joy to the World” — Gospel arrangement by Mervyn Warren (as heard in The Preacher’s Wife)

  • “Silent Night” — A soulful nod to The Temptations

Audience response has been overwhelming:

“One of the most remarkably precise and soulful choirs I’ve ever heard — pure artistry from first chord to last.”— Audience Member, Healing & Heart

With music that moves from shimmering delicacy to foot-tapping joy, this final holiday performance promises to be one of the standout Oakland holiday concerts of 2025.
