Stand Up: Support Ukraine & Fight Antisemitism

AfterGlow Chorus is proud to present the concert "Stand Up: Support Ukraine & Fight Antisemitism." In this fall concert program, we hope to bring awareness to historical and cultural themes impacting Jewish and Ukrainian peoples. We are fortunate to have singers in AfterGlow Chorus from both of these communities.

We will be singing music with both Ukrainian and Jewish roots, including selections from classical, jazz, pop, and Broadway genres, including:

• "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna" (traditional Ukrainian folk song)

• "Bless the Lord, O My Soul" by Kyrylo Stetsenko

• "A Quiet Night - Tyhoyi Nochi" by  Natalia Tsupryk (Bay Area Premier)

• “1944” by Jamala (Eurovision Song winner)

• "Even When He Is Silent" by Kim Andre Arnesen

• "Eli, Eli" written by Hannah Szenes in 1942 and set to music by David Zehavi in 1945 (original AfterGlow arrangement)

• "For All We Know" by J. Fred Coots

• "Lullabye" by Billy Joel

• “Glitter in the Air” by Pink

• "Sunday" by Stephen Sondheim
